Young Directors Award

The Young Directors category is free to enter. The Young Directors Award honours the most talented young film minds in our industry. 

 

Eligibility: 

 

  • Individual who are 30 years or younger at as at 30 June 2026.
  • Permanent residents of Africa & the Middle East. 
  • This award is exclusively for Directors and Assistant Directors. 
  • Only digital entries (no physical entries) 
  • Work entered here can also be entered in the main categories where eligible.

  • Entrants must submit no more than 5 examples of their
    professional work from the last five years. Please note:
    A campaign with multiple elements will count as 1 example of work.
  • All direction work must be submitted in Video format (max 10).
  • All the work in your portfolio must have been approved by
    the appropriate Brand Representative, and must have been commercially exposed (e.g. flighted, built, commercially aired etc.)
    to a substantial audience. Student work and concepts may not be entered.
  • Please indicate what your contribution to the work was, e.g. copywriting. Especially when submitting big campaigns.
  • Young Directors PDF must ONLY include:
  • A written reference supporting your entry provided by your Creative Director or equivalent supervisor.
  • A full resume, including your contact details, employment
    history, and a summary of your last three years working
    experience, including awards won, showing us why you
    should be considered for the Young Directors Award.
  • Supply proof of your age (copy of an identity document, any Passport, or birth certificate)
Contact details of three professional references, i.e. people who have worked with you.

REQUIREMENTS :
  • You must turn 27 during 2024,or be younger, to be eligible.
  • Entrants must submit no more than 5 examples of their

DESCRIPTION
: Proof of work and overview images will be used for judging, as well as awards content should your work win.
Text must be legible and kept to a minimum.
Close up images are permitted of small details that need to be seen by the jury.

  • 7063 (w) x 5008 (h) pixels
  • File size is 5MB - 15MB per image
  • Maximum of 10 JPEGS
MEDIA TYPE : OVERVIEW VIDEO
DESCRIPTION
: An overview video highlighting the elements most relevant to the chosen category.
SPECIFICATION :
  • Maximum length = 2 minutes
  • Maximum size = 400MB

: Original execution of the content that was commercially launched or aired.

: This edit will not be judged, it will be used as awards content should your work win.
