Student Category
Social Impact Campaign is a business-focussed campaign designed to solve social issues profitably. It is not CSI. To be considered Social Impact Campaign an idea needs to demonstrate business profitability while adding value to the community it serves.
No physical entries allowed for this category. Electronic media only. An entry questionnaire must be submitted with every entry in the Social Impact Campaign category. Please download the form from your Dashboard under the “Special Forms” Tab.
The Social Impact Campaign category recognises campaigns that deliver value to companies, while positively impacting society through their initiatives.
The Company Benefit must be for a commercial entity and can be in any form; for example revenue, brand awareness, brand loyalty, customer retention, new customer acquisition, etc. The Social Benefit can also come in many forms; for example: lifestyle improvement, access to services, community upliftment, education, standard of living, environmental impact, etc.
Upliftment and transformation of underprivileged communities is a major focus of the Social Impact Campaign award; however Social Benefit is not necessarily limited to underprivileged communities or those in financial need. For example, Social Benefit may be in the form of lifestyle, health and environmental benefits.
Areas for consideration include:
● Adaptation of products and markets to make a greater impact on, or contribution to society, whilst continuing to meet or exceed shareholder expectations;
● Re-consideration of practices within the value chain (inbound logistics, operational processes, outbound logistics, procurement policies and processes, sales and marketing activities and service delivery) to implement social and/or environmental innovation;
● Collaboration with industry associations, charitable organisations, other businesses and/or external partners to address societal challenges while benefiting the brand;
Eligibility: What can be entered?
Check the following to determine if your entry is eligible:
1. The campaign must be developed and implemented in our region.
2. The Social Impact Campaign award is not for a charity programme.
3. Entries must have a Commercial Brand involved in the programme – entries only involving a not-for-profit entity are not eligible.
4. The campaign must align with the business of the Company, and demonstrate positive business and social benefits.
5. Entries must be active during the period of 1st July 2022 and 30th June 2023. The implementation may have started prior to this date, but the campaign must be running during at least a portion of this eligibility period.

HOW TO SEND YOUR JPEG FILES – UPLOAD VIA OUR ONLINE ENTRY SYSTEM
You can upload your files directly to your media library via the online entry process. You have the option of uploading your files while completing your entry form, or you can choose to upload them at a later stage. Just login to your account to create an entry or manage your media.
To upload your JPEG files:
In “Media Manager” you will be able to import your media files with the “uploader”. When importing your JPEG file into the media manager, you must select one of the below “Types”:
- JPEG – for judging
- JPEG – copy of 3D piece (not for judging).
- JPEG – copy of 2D Board / Poster (not for judging)
It is important to note that the JPEGS which are uploaded ” JPEG – copy of 3D piece / 2D Board / Poster” are not shown during judging. The Jury will look at the actual physical piece (that must be sent to the Loeries offices by the entry deadline). Only JPEGS marked “for judging” will be viewed electronically to the judges.
These “types” directly correlate with the submission format requirements for each category. These may vary from category to category. Please check the entry guide.
HOW TO SEND YOUR VIDEO FILES – UPLOAD VIA OUR ONLINE ENTRY SYSTEM
You can upload your files directly to your media library via the online entry process. You have the option of uploading your files while completing your entry form, or you can choose to upload them at a later stage. Just login to your account to create an entry or manage your media.
To upload your Video files:
In “Media Manager” you will be able to import your media files with the “uploader”. When importing your video file into the media manager, you must select one of the below “Types”:
- Overview Video (max duration 2 minutes)
- Original Content ( videos over 2 minutes duration)
- 30s Edit (max duration 30 sec)
- Facebook/Instagram (only applicable in the Student Facebook Challenge category)
It is important to note that these “types” directly correlate with the submission format requirements for each category. These may vary from category to category. Please check the entry guide.
SUPPLY A 30 SECOND EDIT – We recommend that all long format entries (videos over 30 seconds) should be accompanied by an additional 30 second edit, which can include a voiceover. This will be used on screen at the awards ceremony should your work win. If no edit is received, the original video will fade in and out on screen at the awards. The awards ceremony will take place in the same week as judging, so it is important that you submit the required material during the entry process.
IF USING VIDEO, you can provide footage of the entry itself, as well as supporting information about your work. Please follow the Video submission format. We recommend that a 30 second edit is also provided for the awards ceremony.
IF USING AUDIO – you can provide supporting audio files with your entry (such as radio commercials). You should follow the Audio submission format for all audio submissions.
Student Category : Hints and tips
TIP #1: The judges are looking at hundreds of entries – where necessary, provide additional information to help them to understand your entry in terms of our judging criteria: Innovation, Quality of execution, relevance to the Brand, Target Audience and Chosen Medium.
TIP #2: Read the Preparation Guidelines in the professional categories.
TIP #3: You can download your package label and entry labels from your “Summary” section.
Package Label: Stick these labels to the outside of your packages for hand delivery or shipping in the mail – nationally or internationally.
Entry Label: An entry label must be physically attached to each entry. This label contains your entry information and is very important to affix to your entry as it helps the judging team to know they have received all your work and to guide them when laying out for judging.
TIP #4: All physical media must be delivered to the Loeries Offices by the entry Deadline.
TIP #5: Student entries must be produced from work set by educational institutions.
