Dove Public Service Award
The Toxic Flag by Impact BBDO won the 2019 Public Service Award. The award provides the recognition deserved for outstanding creative work in this sector. The Dove Public Service Award recognises the best work across the show for charitable work.
Brand South Africa Young Creatives Award - WIN $5000:
The Brand South Africa Young Creatives Award Simphiwe Mnguni, Graphic Designer at Sunshinegun, and Gregory Leigh Booysen, Art Director at King James Group were awarded the Brand South Africa Young Creatives Award during the first night of the 41st Loerie Awards, held at the Durban ICC on Friday 23 August. The award, sponsored by Brand South Africa, recognises the creative performance of individuals aged 27 or younger. The winner receives a Gold Loerie and an all expenses paid trip to Loeries Creative Week. For more information on the award click here.
Creative Future Scholarship - receive a full scholarship to kickstart your career in creative communications!
The Loeries initiated the Creative Future Scholarship in 2008 to encourage and enable creativity at grassroots level, by assisting learners from a disadvantaged background to study brand communication at a tertiary institution. Last year, the scholarship was awarded to Khanyisa Rosemary Mabasa from Allen Glen High and Keamohetsoe Tsima from Pro Arte Alphen Park. Khanyisa will be studying at AAA School of Advertising Johannesburg while Keamohetsoe will be attending Vega School, Johannesburg.
The Creative Future Scholarship covers just about everything - fees, study materials, accommodation and living expenses. Plus it offers mentorship, internship and employment in the communications industry. Unlike other education funds, this programme goes to high schools across the country, builds awareness and seeks out talented individuals. Through this process, learners who would otherwise be unaware of the opportunities available, are brought into the creative industry.
