Hall of Fame - Alistair King

Alistair King, Chief Creative Officer of the King James Group, has been inducted into the Loeries Hall of Fame, an accolade that recognises individuals who have helped build the advertising industry into what it is today.
“It is worth noting that he is the first founder and head of an agency that remains 100 percent independent to be honoured in this way by the Loeries,” said Loeries CEO, Andrew Human. “It is a testament to the ongoing quality of his work, coupled with his unwavering commitment to the creative spirit of the industry.”

Marketing Leadership & Innovation - Andrea Quaye

Andrea Quaye, Vice President Marketing at Anheuser-Busch InBev, received the 2019 Loeries Marketing Leadership and Innovation Award, at the first night of the 41st Loerie Awards, held at the Durban ICC on Friday night, August 23. The award honours individuals whose sustained bold and creative ideas over an extended period of time, contributed to creating some of South Africa’s iconic brands.
“Over several years, it is clear that Andrea was personally involved in her brands’ successes, and an active contributor to their market positions in South Africa,” stated Andrew Human, CEO of the Loeries. “She is a worthy recipient and outstanding example of the leadership, dedication, loyalty and commitment to a brand that is required to go beyond the ordinary.”

Brand South Africa Young Creatives Award

Simphiwe Mnguni, Graphic Designer at Sunshinegun, and Gregory Leigh Booysen, Art Director at King James Group were awarded the Brand South Africa Young Creatives Award during the first night of the 41st Loerie Awards, held at the Durban ICC on Friday 23 August. The award, sponsored by Brand South Africa, recognises the creative performance of individuals aged 27 or younger. Each winner receives a Gold Loerie and US$5,000.

Dove Public Service Award

The Toxic Flag by Impact BBDO won the 2019 Public Service Award. The award provides the recognition deserved for outstanding creative work in this sector. The Dove Public Service Award recognises the best work across the show for charitable work.

Agency & Regional Agency Group of the Year

The top three Agencies of the Year are: First – Joe Public United, Second – Ogilvy Johannesburg, and Third – TBWA\Hunt Lascaris Johannesburg.
