Ralf Heuel
CCO and Partner, Grabarz & Partner

Ralf Heuel is the OOH, Live and PR Jury President for 2019. Ralf is CCO and Partner at Grabarz & Partner, in Hamburg – the agency he co-founded as a junior copywriter in 1993. At that time, the company comprised just five employees. Today, Ralf has made the agency one of the most creative in the country, with over 300 staff, and has repeatedly catapulted Grabarz & Partner into the top five of the most creative German agencies.

Grabarz & Partner is responsible for the domestic and international accounts of Volkswagen, Porsche, IKEA, Burger King, EURONICS, and Melitta.

Grabarz & Partner has been named one of ‘The World’s Leading Independent Agencies’ and ‘Agency of the Year’. It has been ranked as the number one creative agency in Germany and the most decorated German agency at several international award shows. Ralf and the other managing directors of the agency have been titled as the ‘Men and Women of the Year’ in the Agencies category, and at the same time, Ralf was awarded ‘Creative Leader of the Year’ by the Lead Academy, an award for which he was also nominated in 2012.

The current Big Won Report lists Grabarz & Partner at number 13 of the most creative in the world. The agency also came second in the German 2018 creativity ranking of w&v magazine. And, in 2017, Grabarz & Partner was Germany’s most successful independent agency at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, and voted Eurobest’s ‘International Independent Agency of the Year’.

Manuel Bordé 
Executive Creative Director, TBWA\RAAD

Born in Miami, USA, Manuel has been working in advertising since 2006.

Prior to his career with TBWA\RAAD Dubai as a Creative Director, Manuel was a Creative Director at DDB offices in Puerto Rico, Panamá and Colombia and a Copywriter at Ogilvy & Mather Colombia.

In the last two years alone, he has created and led work that has collected more than 150 awards at the Cannes Lions, D&AD, Clio Awards, One Show, Dubai Lynx (including 7 Grand Prix), London International Awards, New York Festivals, Loeries (including a Grand Prix), Epica, Cristal Awards (including 2 Grand Prix), MENA Effie Awards & WARC Awards (including a Grand Prix).

Manuel has been on the jury panel for the New York Festivals, AdStars and Fiap. In 2017, he was part of the first TBWA\Master Gunners and was named the #1 Creative Director in the MENA Region by the B&W Report and the Big Won Rankings in 2018.


Caroline Pretorius
ECD, VVW Group

Caroline has led VWV’s creative endeavour for over 20 years.  During this time the experiential agency has won 12 Loeries Grands Prix and 39 Loeries Golds plus a raft of industry awards including Financial Mail’s Specialist Agency of the Year and Finweek AdReview’s Outstanding Performer Award.   

A seasoned expert, Caroline has guided the creative execution of hundreds of large-scale launches, events, conferences, activations, festivals and ceremonies for clients both here and around the world.  She played a key role in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and has been acknowledged locally and internationally for her directorship skills.       

Caroline serves on the Loeries committee and is a board member of the VWV Group and the Phakama Women’s Academy, a VWV initiative, which readies young women in the communications sector for the corporate world.  

Fran Luckin
Chief Creative Officer, Grey Africa

Fran Luckin is Chief Creative Officer of Grey Africa in Johannesburg.

She began her career as a copywriter, moved to TBWA / Hunt Lascaris in the late nineties, where she became a Creative Director, then joined Ogilvy Johannesburg in 2003, and became Executive Creative Director there in 2008. 
She’s worked in digital advertising as well as traditional advertising, having served as Executive Creative Director of Quirk South Africa (now Mirum) between 2013 and 2016.

She joined Grey as CCO in 2016, and now sits on the nine-member Grey Global Creative Board.

Together with the executive team at Grey, Fran has helped to transform the creative output of the agency from traditional advertising into a fully integrated multi-media, digital and social communications offering. 

She has judged international and South African creative awards shows (including the Cannes Film Lions, the Cannes Outdoor Lions, the Dubai Lynx Awards, the Clio Awards and D&AD) – and has also served three times on the judging panel for the Apex Awards.

In 2017 she served as Jury President of the Print and Publishing Jury at the Cannes Lions – the first female Jury President from Africa.

She has an M.B.A from the Berlin School of Creative Leadership.

Keri-Ann Stanton
Head of PR, Avatar

Keri-Ann Stanton, Head of PR at Avatar, is a multi-award winning PR Strategist and Creative (Apex, Loerie, SABRE EMEA, African Excellence and Prisms). She heads up the PR division at Avatar, South Africa’s largest 100% black owned and managed agency looking after clients such as SANParks, ANC, Montblanc, JoJo Tanks and De Beers.

Koo Govender
CEO, Dentsu Aegis Network

Dentsu Aegis is a multinational media and digital marketing communications company which through its nine global network brands Carat, Dentsu, Dentsu media, iProspect, Isobar, mcgarrybowen, MKTG, Posterscope and Vizeum – and supported by its growing specialist/multi-market brands – Dentsu Aegis Network provides best-in-class expertise and capabilities in brand, media, digital and specialist communications through its original holistic and integrated approach. Koo previously held the CEO position for VWV Group where she was the first female CEO. Her passion for women empowerment and mentorship has been fulfilled by developing and launching the Phakama Women’s Academy which is targeted at Marketing university students to equip and empower them for the corporate world. Koo has been actively involved in the broadcasting and media industry for 22 years and she tendered the position of Corporate Marketing and Communications Director for M-Net.

Koo’s philosophy is “success is one aspect and significance is of utmost importance” therefore, Koo also mentors young women as she believes more women should be seated around the boardroom table. Koo loves community work
and uplifting women and youth.


Neo Mashigo
Partner: Chief Creative Officer, M&C Saatchi Group

On top of being the Chief Creative Officer for the M&C Saatchi Group, South Africa, Neo is also the Co-Founder of I See A Different You – a collective of Soweto-born creatives who set out to change the world’s view of Africa. In fact, throughout his career, Neo has been passionate about the creativity in Africa and producing work that better represents the continent. 

He is former Chairman and current board member of The Loerie Awards – South Africa’s premiere advertising awards. He also sits on the Executive Committee of the Creative Circle, a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting creativity as a business tool. Before joining M&C Saatchi Group, Neo was Executive Creative Director at two of South Africa’s largest advertising agencies, Ogilvy & Mather Johannesburg and FCB Johannesburg. While there, he was instrumental in leading both these agencies to the top spots in creative ranking tables. 

Neo has won several local and international awards including a Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity and The Loerie Awards. But his greatest achievement is his ability to identify and develop black creative talent that become leading creatives in the industry.

Sarah-Jane Boden
Founder & CEO, Soul Providers

Sarah-Jane is the Founder and CEO of the content creation and social media marketing agency SoulProviders Collective (SPC), based in Johannesburg. SPC’s talented team focuses on telling rich African stories online and offline while building and nurturing online communities across multiple channels on behalf of a range of South African, pan-African and global brands and organisations with a special focus on NGOs and businesses that do good.

Currently pursuing her Masters in Critical Diversity studies at WITS, SJ, as she is known in the industry, has over 19 years experience working in the marketing and communications domain across multiple local, pan-African and global brands in South Africa, the UK and Europe. Sarah-Jane has a flair for predicting expectations of current and future consumers and is adept at understanding and shaping how ideas and solutions can impact real-world behavior and change lives through the power of content and digital.

Referring to herself as an ‘accidental entrepreneur’, SJ is committed to shared value, job creation and small business development towards driving economic transformation and social cohesion in South Africa, and has spun her emerging branding and design agency Suketchi with her partner David Tshabalala out of the SoulProviders creative family and is currently assisting David to propel its earlystage growth. A mentor to a number of women in the creative and other industries, SJ is also the founder of #FounderNation, a movement and marketplace organised by womxn for womxn in business with a strong support base of rising female entrepreneurs from the communication industry that meets quarterly.
