Alan Kelly
Copywriter, CD, ECD and CCO, Rothco

Alan has been at Rothco for 10 years as copywriter, CD, ECD and now CCO. During that time Rothco, part of Accenture Interactive, has become Ireland’s biggest and most successful creative agency, working with some amazing clients and brands. Along the way Alan has won Lions,D&AD and One Show pencils, Grand Clios and the prestigious Grand Prix in Cannes. He has also judged at Cannes Lions, D&AD, Dubai Lynx, LIAs, One Show, & Clios.


Jacquie Mullany
Executive Creative Director, VMLY&R South Africa 

Jacquie is a writer of words, lover of ideas, and a trainer of unicorns. She began her journey as an art director, did some coding, then fell into copywriting as she moved her way TTL. She has worked on many brands over the past 16 years, including Standard Bank, Nando’s, Adidas, Appletiser, City Lodge Hotel Group and McDonald's.

In addition to having her work recognised at multiple award shows, she has also had the honour of judging a few of them as well.

Most importantly, she is fluent in three languages, including Emoji and Giphy, and has made herself at home as Executive Creative Director at VMLY&R South Africa.


Asha Patel
Head of Marketing 
Google, South Africa

Asha Patel is Head of Marketing for Google South Africa and Head of B2B Marketing for SSA. She is a digitally savvy brand builder with over 16 years of emerging and developed market experience.

Asha has spent 9 years with Google and, in addition to her time in Marketing, has led global brand relationships with Unilever whilst at Google UK, and local and regional relationships with brands and agencies whilst at Google SA.

Prior to joining Google, Asha was one of the founding members of the Digital Marketing team at Standard Bank Group where she established their web and mobile presence, driving digital and mobile marketing across the bank's 18 African operations. Before this Asha worked in various B2B and B2C marketing roles at Primedia subsidiary, The Mobile Games Company.

Asha holds degrees in Informatics, Honours Cum Laude in Business Management, and multiple Henley and Wits Business Schools certifications.

She has been recognised as one of Mail & Guardian’s Top 200 Young South Africans, is a One Young World Ambassador and a member of the UN's Unstereotype Alliance. She serves on Adweek Africa's Advisory Council as well as the Marketing Achievement Awards Council.

Her great loves are family, reiki and meditation and she has recently become a mother for the second time.


Camilla Clerke
Executive Creative Director

After several years studying B.Com CA, Camilla got out just in time, pursuing a career in advertising. After a number of years working on TVCs, print and radio campaigns for clients like FNB, MTN and Wimpy, she found her way into experimental and innovative through-the-line agency, HelloFCB+.

It was here her life changed forever. Exploring innovative solutions to solve business problems; like building a real-life website on a 2km cycling track for Toyota RAV4, turning a non-profit organisation into a Media Agency to feed hungry children for the PSFA, and telling people to “say it with a cactus” instead of flowers in Netflorist’s drought campaign, Camilla has won a number of awards, both locally and internationally; including Cannes Lions, Loeries, Bookmarks, Webbys, D&AD, FWA and One Show. She has also sat on the Cannes, Loeries, Dubai Lynx, Creativepool and Bookmarks panels, and has a seat on both the IAB and Creative Circle councils.

Kalliebree Keynerd
Design Lead, Accenture  Head of Social Media, Joe Public United

Kalliebree Keynerd has over a decade of digital and social media experience. She is the head of social media at Joe Public United and is responsible for guiding the agency’s overall social excellence. She leads a team of social media managers working on a range of brands, including Chicken Licken, AB InBev, Nestle, Revlon. Whilst working as head of digital at Meropa PR & Communications, Kalliebree developed the award-winning social campaign and platform #RatherbeinMauritius for Mauritius Tourism SA. A key highlight of her career was being the social lead on the Volvo Car relaunch and turnaround strategy in South Africa.

Has worked across most industries and verticals building platforms and identifying user behaviour for
optimised solutions.

Kalpesh Patankar
Chief Creative Officer

Kalpesh is Chief Creative Officer of VMLY&R, MENA where he was named amongst one of the top 10 Global Agency Leaders by ADWEEK.
Over the past decade Kalpesh has consistently been one of the most effective and awarded creatives in the region. 

He helped create campaigns such as Coca-Cola "Hello Happiness" as well as celebrated work for Harvey Nichols, Landrover, Colgate and many others. 

Prior to VMLY&R, he was in Asia with Saatchi & Saatchi Mumbai and Ogilvy Singapore.

At Saatchi & Saatchi his work for Procter and Gamble made him the No.1 Ranked creative in India and the agency to be the most awarded in the year 2000. 

Kal has been named as one of the "Creatives to Watch" multiple times. In Cannes Lions, VMLY&R Dubai become Agency of the decade - MEA in 2020.
He is also a member of VMLY&R's Global Creative Council.

Pete Khoury
Chief Creative Officer
TBWA Hunt Lascaris

Peter Khoury is currently the CCO of TBWA\Hunt Lascaris and sits on the executive committee of the Creative Circle – a leading industry body for advertising creativity in South Africa. He also sits on the Loeries Committee – The leading African and Middle Eastern advertising award show, and also sits on the Facebook Creative Council for the EMEA Region.

He joined TBWA\Hunt Lascaris in 2000, where he launched the BMW 6 Series global campaign and repositioned Sasol as a company of infinite possibilities. He also worked with TBWA\Chiat\Day to launch the Pedigree Worldwide ‘Dogs Rule’ campaign in 2004/2005. In 2007, he played a pivotal role in starting hot shop MetropolitanRepublic. As ECD he helped change the global lexicon forever by leading his team in the 2010 FIFA World Cup ‘Ayoba’ integrated campaign for telecom provider, MTN.

In 2014, he re-joined TBWA\Hunt Lascaris as CCO, with the intention of taking South Africa’s most iconic agency to new heights. He has already guided his team to Agency of the Year in South Africa in 2015, 2018 and 2019, and in 2020, the agency was acknowledged as the Cannes Lions – Regional Agency of the Decade Runner–up - Africa & Middle East. He has accumulated well over 350 statues at major local and international awards shows, including Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show, The Webbys, Clios and Loeries. His work is also featured in Cannes Lions Game Changers – The Evolution of Advertising, The Good Report and multiple times in the elusive WARC/Gunn Report.

Peter has sat on various local and international awards juries, including Cannes Lions, The One Show, Loeries and Ciclope Africa. In 2018, Peter was named as the Most Admired Creative Leader in Johannesburg and in 2019 the runner-up as the Most Admired Creative Leader in South Africa in the annual Agency Leaders poll by MarkLives. Peter was also voted in as the Creative Circle Chairperson from 2018-2020. He used his time to modernise and transform the organisation into what it is today. From 2018-2020, he sat on the Loeries Board, helping steer the organisation into a new era. Peter now sits on the board of The South Africanist, a non-profit company that believes in the promotion of active citizenship. During South Africa’s COVID-19 Lockdown, Peter led a team that brought the Solidarity Fund to life, an initiative that South Africa so desperately needed; in record time.

In addition to Advertising, Peter has used his creative energy to formulate his own clothing/lifestyle brand, Zero One One and has also dabbled in the movie business as a creative and marketing consultant to local film 'Stone Cold Jane Austin’ and the DSTV series ‘Ayeye’.

Veli Ngubane
Chief Creative Officer

Veli Ngubane born in Kwamhlaba Uyalingana in rural KZN, joined the world of advertising after completing his BSocSci (law, politics and economics) at UCT and a post-graduate marketing diploma at Red & Yellow, where he’s currently advisory board chairman. He also Chairman of the IAB’s Transformation & Education Council, is a DMA board member. He is the Founder & Chief Creative Officer of Avatar Agency Group, which is the largest black founded advertising agency group in South Africa. He is an award winning creative who has worked on major brands in such as: BMW, Apple, Unilever, H&M, Telkom, Caltex & BP in his career.

Adepoju Bakare is  what you get when you blend a tinge of Albert Einstein, a dash of J.R. R. Tolken and sprinkle it with a dose of Mark Zuckerberg. He creates magical moments that help brands find their essence and tell their stories, thus yielding returns on marketing investments and building cathedrals in the minds of audiences.

He's done this for several brands and businesses such as MTN, Airtel, Frieslandcampina Wamco, Microsoft, MultiChoice, Lenovo, and SABMiller to mention but a few. His career has seen him directing Digital and Strategy departments at renowned agencies such as AquaOnline and Noah’s Ark Communications, while establishing startups such as The RedWOI.F Company (Noah’s Ark’s digital agency) and Beyond the Visual, a new kind of ICT (Interactive Creative Technology) studio that focuses on creative storytelling, content production and deployment of everyday, lifestyle mobile apps for fun, entertainment and commerce.
